Australia's refugee program. Since Federation, Australia has resettled over 750,000 refugees and humanitarian entrants. The history of refugee settlement in Australia, however, extends back at least 170 years. The United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) is a consortium of federal agencies and nonprofit organizations working together, both overseas and domestically, to identify and admit qualified refugees for resettlement.
